Although I’ve already written a superb review of SECI, I think a follow up is in order, having lived with the roof they rebuilt in the summer of 2024. We have an antique house, with an 18th century foundation that was rebuilt in 1880, and then added on and updated in the 1960’s. What we thought was going to be a change of asphalt shingles turned out to be a major overhaul as the previous roofer had not removed the original wood shingles and they and the rafters underneath had rotted and also ruined the insulation. So essentially SECI rebuilt the roof, removing all rotten materials, installing good and new insulation, and making sister rafters (doubling) for the old ones, as well as new premium GAF TImberline HDz asphalt shingles. We also replaced 11 Skylights.Over the almost 18 months since completion, we have had a much more silent, solid house. Cooler in the hottest days of summer, and cozy and warm today in the coldest day in years. We had assumed that “this old house” was subject to drafts and exterior noise. WRONG! SECI has changed not just the exterior appearance of our house for the better but also markedly improved the quality of our lives. I might add that all their workmen were courteous, polite, respectful, and took care for us to have the least inconvenience during a major construction project. The manager Cobra and construction supervisor Manny were always courteous at our beck and call-and have remained so for any questions.
